About Paddle for Autism

Our Mission

Paddle for Autism exists to create safe, inclusive paddleboarding and kayaking experiences for autistic children and their families.

We believe time on the water can be calming, empowering, and joyful — especially when it’s offered without pressure, expectations, or judgment.

Why Paddle for Autism

Many families of autistic children face limited access to recreational activities that truly feel safe and welcoming.

Paddle for Autism was created to change that.

Our events are intentionally:

  • Sensory-friendly

  • Safety-first

  • Community-supported

Every child is encouraged to participate in their own way and at their own pace.

Some paddle.
Some sit.
Some simply float and smile.

All of it is success.

What Makes Our Events Different

Paddle for Autism is not a race, a lesson, or a competition.

It’s a shared experience built around:

  • Calm water locations

  • One-on-one volunteer support

  • Universal life jacket use

  • Flexible participation

  • Family involvement

We design our events so families can relax, kids can feel safe, and joy can happen naturally.

Our Community

Paddle for Autism is powered by:

  • Dedicated volunteers

  • Experienced paddlers

  • Supportive families

  • Community partners

Together, we create an environment where autistic children feel seen, supported, and included — not as an exception, but as the norm.

Where Your Support Goes

Donations help us provide:

  • Paddleboards and kayaks

  • Life jackets and safety gear

  • Permits, insurance, and logistics

  • Event supplies, snacks, and water

Every contribution directly supports our mission and helps us expand access to the water for more families.
